Sculptural, simple, and solid in the hand.
This one-of-a-kind vessel brings together the rich tones of Jarrah and the wild, expressive grain of Marri. Inspired by traditional woodturners but created using hand-shaping techniques, Deano set out to push the boundaries of what’s possible without a lathe - proving that with enough time and care, the tools don’t define the outcome.
Use it to hold small tools, dried botanicals, or nothing at all - it stands strong on its own. Finished smooth with a natural sheen that shows off the timber’s character from every angle.
Crafted in the Deano Builds workshop and shipped direct from HQ. No mass production. Just timber, tools, and a steady hand.
13.5cm x 7cm (5cm opening)

Marri (Corymbia calophylla)
Native to the southwest forests of Western Australia, Marri is a distinctive hardwood known for its bold grain patterns, warm golden hues, and natural gum veins, which give each piece a truly unique character. Once overlooked due to its high gum content, Marri has become a prized timber for fine furniture and bespoke craftsmanship, celebrated for its individuality and rustic elegance. Marri’s density and durability make it a strong and long-lasting choice, while its striking visual appeal ensures that no two pieces are ever the same. Sustainably sourced, this uniquely Western Australian hardwood brings a touch of raw, natural beauty
Premium Jarrah Wood (Eucalyptus marginata)
Native exclusively to the iron-rich soils of Western Australia, Jarrah is a rare and highly sought-after hardwood known for its striking deep red to brown hues. This slow-growing timber is prized for its exceptional density, durability, and resistance to rot, termites, and fire, making it one of the toughest and longest-lasting woods available. Its tight, interlocked grain not only enhances strength but also produces a beautiful natural luster when finished. Due to its limited geographic range and superior properties, Jarrah remains a premium choice for high-quality craftsmanship that stands the test of time
Curly Grain
Curly grain is a rare and captivating wood figure where the natural fibers form undulating patterns, creating a three-dimensional, rippling effect across the surface. This phenomenon enhances the wood’s chatoyance, a unique optical quality where the grain appears to shift and shimmer under changing light - much like the glow of silk fabric. The interplay of light and depth gives curly-grained timber an almost liquid-like movement, making it highly prized by artisans and woodworkers
Care Instructions for Your Wood Product
To ensure the longevity and beauty of your handcrafted wood piece, follow these simple care guidelines:
- Avoid soaking in water – Prolonged exposure to moisture can cause warping or damage.
- Clean gently – Wipe with a lightly damp cloth and dry immediately. For stubborn marks, use a mild soap, but avoid harsh chemicals.
- Do not place in the dishwasher – The intense heat and water exposure can weaken the wood and damage the finish.
- Keep out of direct sunlight – Prolonged UV exposure can cause fading, drying, or cracking over time.
- Maintain with food-safe oil – To nourish and protect the surface, periodically apply a food-safe oil (such as mineral oil or beeswax-based finishes) and buff gently.
With the right care, your wooden piece will age gracefully, developing a rich patina while maintaining its strength and beauty.
